Welcome to St John the Baptist in the heart of the City of Peterborough.
We are a Church of England parish in the Diocese of Peterborough and worship within sight of our Cathedral.
Our worship is more traditional than modern and the Communion Services at St John's are according to Common Worship.

OUR FIVE YEAR VISION 2011 - 2016
We believe that St John’s and St Luke’s are called to be places and communities which help people connect with God in prayer and worship, and where the good news of God’s love is witnessed in action.
We further believe that over the next five years our churches are called to grow numerically, grow in their level of activities and grow in their depth of discipleship; and our buildings are to be resources well used by the community at large, witnessing to the presence of the living God in the heart of the city and in the midst of human life, in all its variety and complexity, in all its joys and sorrows.

Vehicular Access to and Parking at St John's
Vehicular access to St John's is permitted to enable people to be dropped off outside St John's, but they must then continue on and park elsewhere.
People attending Sunday Services have the use of alternative parking.

 . Canon Gordon Steele is to be welcomed as the new Archdeacon of Oakham at a service at Peterborough Cathedral on Saturday 25 February, at 11am. All are welcome to the service.
Canon Gordon's last service with us at St John's was on the 29th January 2012, Candlemas. We now seek to appoint the next Vicar of Peterborough.
